Nordstrom counter manager, Claudia Myszko, received Chanel’s 2007 “Counter Manager of the Year” award.
Claudia was selected to receive this very special award out of a broad field. The award is national and bestowed upon only one individual each year. The pool of candidates draws from all Chanel cosmetics counters at all retailers, an impressive list that includes Saks, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Macy’s, as well as Nordstrom.
Currently, there are over 750 Chanel cosmetics counters in the United States and Claudia Myszko was selected as the very best manager.
The award criteria is based on individual and team performance, as well as various successes throughout the year. The counter manager must meet his or her personal sales goal, and the counter’s retail sales performance in beauty and fragrance is considered in relation to the overall counter goal. The award committee also looks at event execution and productivity, motivation and retention of beauty advisors, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous efforts to improve every aspect of business.
Claudia received notice of her award in a public and exciting way. National and regional Chanel representatives, along with a cinematographer, Cosmetics Regional Merchandiser Julie Wasson and Store Manager Sung Cho Rothe surprised her at the counter with a huge bouquet of long-stemmed roses, a cash prize and details about the award’s most exciting perk—as Counter Manager of the Year, Claudia will be flown to the Chanel sales meeting in Florida, where she will be honored before all the guests, attend workshops, and enjoy some well-deserved pampering.
“I was totally surprised,” Claudia says. “It was phenomenal, and so humbling. This is an extreme honor and I feel so fortunate.”
The award is very well deserved and also well timed. “We have a lot to celebrate right now: our counter made our first million in 2007,” Claudia says. “I have a great team. That’s what makes it. They’re so motivated. We’re just like a little, happy family.”
